Search Jerome County Court Records
Jerome County uses Idaho's statewide iCourt Portal for online case status, Smart Search, hearing search, and payment access. The county court information page sends users to mycourts.idaho.gov, which routes to the Tyler Odyssey portal. The Fifth Judicial District also identifies iCourt as Idaho's online records search and payment site. That means the first online step is not a county-built index. It is the statewide court portal narrowed to Jerome County or the right case type when those filters are available.
Smart Search is best when the case number, party name, business name, or protection-order detail is known. Search Hearings is better for calendar-style checks, such as a criminal hearing, family hearing, probate or mental-health setting, judicial officer calendar, courtroom, or attorney search. Online results should be treated as public case-status data. They can point to the case, parties, hearings, docket events, and status, but they do not replace the full court file kept by the Clerk of the District Court.
- Open the iCourt Portal and choose Smart Search for name, record number, or case-number lookup.
- Use Advanced Filtering Options and set the location to Jerome County when the portal offers that filter.
- Search by case number when possible. For names, use the portal's Last, First Middle Suffix format.
- Narrow by case type, file date, case status, judicial officer, or protection-order filters when too many results appear.
- Read the result as a public summary, then request pleadings, orders, judgments, certified copies, or audio from the proper Jerome County records channel.
Jerome County Court Records Fields
The Smart Search screen is detailed enough that a broad name search may return more than the intended case. The most precise query uses a case number or record number. If a name is the only lead, the portal's format matters. Business-name searches and wildcard searches also have portal rules, so partial names should follow the stated character minimums instead of guessing at spellings.

Jerome County Court Records Requests
Online search is only one access channel. The Jerome County Court Records Request Form is the local path for document copies, certified documents, and case-file requests that are not fully available through iCourt. The form directs completed requests to jeromecourtrecords@jerome.idcourts.gov. It asks for the requester name, date submitted, mailing address, phone, email, delivery choice, case number, case name, case type, specific documents requested with filing dates, and the reason or relationship to the case when the record may be exempt, sealed, or confidential.
The county's public-records hub separates court records from other records. Marriage records route through an Auditor/Recorder marriage request. Sheriff incident, accident, photo, arrest, and jail reports use the Sheriff's Office form. Sealed records have a separate sealed-records request. Court audio is also separate through the Courts/Judicial Complex Agreement for Purchase of Audio, so hearing audio should not be requested as if it were a normal docket printout.
| Request Item | Jerome County Detail |
|---|---|
| Documents | The form has a checkbox for ordinary court documents. |
| Certified Documents | Use when a certified copy is needed for legal proof. |
| Delivery | Pick up, email, or US Mail, with postage added for mail. |
| Case Types | Criminal, civil protection order, juvenile, guardianship, divorce, child support/custody, adoption/termination, and other. |
| Restricted Review | Reason for request or relationship to the case is used when confidential access must be reviewed. |
Jerome County Court Records Fees
The local court form lists court copy and certification charges by page. The broader county public-records PDF uses a different fee structure for some non-court county records, so the court-records form should control when the request is for case documents. The strongest request limits cost by naming the exact document, case number, case name, and filing date instead of asking for an entire file without narrowing the request.
| Item | Fee / Note |
|---|---|
| Court document copies | $1 per page on the Jerome County Court Records Request Form. |
| Certified court documents | $1 per page on the Jerome County Court Records Request Form. |
| US Mail delivery | Additional postage fees apply. |
| Deposit / credit | The form includes deposit, credit, total, and paid accounting lines. |
| County non-court copies | The county public-records PDF lists $0.15 per copy plus postage and staff labor where applicable. |
Idaho Code section 74-102 is the general public-records access statute shown in the research. The court form and the Idaho Judicial Branch rules still matter because court case files are judicial records, not ordinary county office files.
Types of Jerome County Court Records
Jerome County court records are not one file type. A civil case may include a complaint, answer, motion, affidavit, order, judgment, satisfaction, or hearing minute. A family case may include divorce with children, divorce without children, child support, child custody, modification, or protection-order papers. Probate and guardianship records are handled through Idaho's trial court structure, while mental-health material may have tighter public access limits.
Criminal and traffic files have a different path. A criminal court file can include the charging document, arraignment, pleas, motions, warrants after service or disclosure, judgment of conviction, sentence, probation terms, fines, costs, and restitution. Traffic records show the court citation or case, plea or disposition, fines, costs, and payments, while Idaho Transportation Department driver records are separate. Detailed outcomes in a criminal file belong with Jerome County criminal court records, not sheriff booking reports.
- Civil cases include complaints, answers, motions, orders, judgments, and satisfactions.
- Criminal cases include charges, pleas, hearings, dispositions, sentences, and financial terms.
- Family cases include divorce, custody, child support, and related modification records.
- Probate and guardianship cases may include estate papers, fiduciary orders, and protected personal material.
- Traffic and misdemeanor cases may connect to payments, appearances, fines, and court costs.
- Protection orders can include sensitive address, minor, or protected-party details.
What Jerome Court Records Show
A public iCourt result is often a map to the file rather than the whole file. It can show the case number, caption, court location, case type, file date, case status, parties, attorneys, judicial officer, hearings, event entries, financial information, and document references. Some fields are searchable. Others appear only after a result is opened. Copies of pleadings, orders, judgments, certified records, and audio may require a clerk request or a courthouse kiosk.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Case Number | The main identifier used in iCourt and on the Jerome County request form. |
| Case Name | The caption, such as plaintiff v. defendant, State v. defendant, or petitioner/respondent. |
| Case Type | Criminal, civil, family, probate, mental health, protection order, traffic, juvenile, or related category. |
| File Date | The date the case or filing was opened in the court record. |
| Parties | Names of parties, subject to redaction for minors, protected parties, and confidential details. |
| Hearings | Date, time, hearing type, location or courtroom, and judge where public. |
| Docket Entries | Filings, notices, motions, orders, judgments, continuances, warrants, returns, and payment events. |
| Financial Data | Fines, court costs, restitution, bond, payment status, and online payment eligibility when public. |
Public Access to Jerome Records
The public access framework has two parts. Idaho's public-records law gives a general right to examine and copy public records unless a law says otherwise. Judicial records are governed by Idaho Court Administrative Rule 32, which is the rule the iCourt Portal cites when explaining sealed and exempt information. Idaho Court Administrative Rule 32 is therefore central to Jerome County court records, especially when portal entries are sealed, exempt, or omitted.
The Idaho Judicial Branch describes several access routes: search iCourt for general case information, use a computer kiosk at a county courthouse, or submit a request to the clerk where the case was filed. For Jerome County, that clerk request goes through the Clerk of the District Court and the county court-records request form. Idaho Code section 74-103 supplies public-agency response procedure, but court-file access still depends on court rules, case type, and any sealing order.
The Idaho Court Administrative Rules page is the source for the judicial records rule that controls public access to court records.
That rule explains why the same case may have a public docket entry, a redacted document, and a sealed item that is not visible in iCourt.
Note: A public portal hit is not proof that every document in the case file is open for public inspection.
Restricted Jerome County Court Records
Some Jerome County court records are public only in part, and some are not public at all. Restricted categories listed in the research include juvenile, adoption or termination, sealed records, mental-health matters, personal identifiers, protected-party information, medical records, financial account numbers, minor names, and law-enforcement investigatory records. The county public-records hub has a separate sealed-records request path, and the court form includes internal review options such as judge review, view only, request denied, or copies granted.
The iCourt Portal warns that sealed cases and information exempt from disclosure by court order or Idaho Code section 74-105 or court rule may not appear. It also says sealed event entries under ICAR 32 are not available for public inspection and are not visible in portal search results, although information on orders to seal that accompany sealed records remains public. That distinction matters when a case appears to have a gap in its events.
The Idaho public records statute supports access unless a statute, court rule, or order limits disclosure.
For sealed or confidential material, the better path is a focused written request that explains the case relationship and asks the clerk what review is required.
Jerome County Court Records Office
Records users may need more than one local office. The Fifth Judicial District lists the Clerk of the District Court at the Jerome County Courthouse, while hearings, court payments, the Court Assistance Office, and many public court interactions are tied to the Thomas H. Borresen Judicial Complex. Calling ahead is useful because the court clerk window closes before the end of the general business day, and the county separates ordinary court records, sealed records, and court audio into different request channels.
